This policy explains what data the WHIP Discord bot (the “Bot”) collects,
why, and what rights you have. The Bot mirrors the WHIP project-management
door of the AmiExpress BBS (the “Board”) inside Discord.
1. Data we collect
Account mapping. When you link via /link, we
store your Discord user ID together with your Board user ID and the link date.
This mapping is what lets the Bot act as you.
Board content you can already see. To answer commands, the
Bot reads WHIP data visible to your Board user: projects, tasks, points,
achievements, and party countdowns. It does not read your Board password,
private messages, emails, or files.
Command input. Discord shares the commands you run and
their inputs with the Bot (e.g. a task title you type into a form) so it can
carry them out. This is processed and not stored beyond what the Board itself
records as a project or task edit.
2. What we do not collect
No passwords, no message contents, no file libraries, no data from other
doors. The Bot requests only the Guilds Discord permission —
no message-reading privileges — so it sees your commands and nothing else you
type in Discord.
3. How shared posts work
WHIP activity the Bot posts to a feed channel (completions, new projects,
achievements) is visible to everyone who can see that channel. Board-side
anonymization settings are honored where they apply, but assume anything the
Bot posts publicly is public.
4. Retention and deletion
The account mapping is kept while your accounts are linked and deleted when
you unlink. Content created through the Bot (tasks, projects) lives under the
Board’s own data policies — unlinking removes the mapping, not your Board
contributions. Backup copies may persist for a short window under the Board’s
backup rotation.
5. Your rights
You may unlink at any time to stop all collection. For access, correction,
or deletion requests regarding Bot-held data, contact [CONTACT]; Board-side
data requests follow the Board’s own process.
6. Changes
Material changes to this policy will be announced on the Board and in the
Bot’s feed channel before they take effect.
