These terms govern your use of the WHIP Discord bot (the “Bot”), which mirrors
the WHIP project-management door of the AmiExpress BBS (the “Board”) inside Discord.
By linking your account or using any Bot command, you agree to these terms.
1. What the Bot does
The Bot lets you view and manage WHIP projects, tasks, leaderboards,
achievements, and party countdowns from Discord, and posts Board activity to a
feed channel. The Bot is a convenience mirror: the Board remains the system of
record, and Board rules and sysop decisions override anything the Bot shows.
2. Account linking
Most commands require linking: you run LINKDISCORD on the Board
to receive a single-use code, then /link in Discord to bind your
Discord account to your Board user. Codes expire after 10 minutes. One Discord
account links to one Board user at a time; re-linking moves the link. You may
unlink at any time via the Bot, which deletes the mapping. You are responsible
for keeping your link code private until used.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to abuse the Bot: no spam, flooding commands, scraping,
attempting to access other users’ private data, or using the Bot to break Board
rules. Project and task content you create through the Bot is subject to the
same standards as content created on the Board itself. The sysop may revoke
Bot access for misuse.
4. Your data and privacy
To function, the Bot stores the mapping between your Discord ID and your
Board user ID, and reads the WHIP data you could already see on the Board
(projects, tasks, points, achievements). It does not read your Board password,
messages, or files. Activity the Bot posts to shared Discord channels is
visible to whoever can see those channels — do not put private information in
project or task fields. Where the Board’s privacy settings anonymize activity,
the Bot honors them. Unlinking deletes your mapping; Board-side WHIP data is
retained under the Board’s own policies.
5. Availability
The Bot is a hobby service run alongside the Board. It may be offline,
outdated, or rate-limited without notice — during downtime, the Board’s WHIP
door remains the full-featured path. The operator may change or discontinue
the Bot at any time.
6. Liability
The Bot is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent
permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from Bot
use, downtime, or actions taken based on Bot output. If a Bot display
disagrees with the Board, the Board is correct.
7. Changes
These terms may be updated; material changes will be announced on the Board
and in the Bot’s feed channel. Continued use after changes take effect
constitutes acceptance.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Bot and unlink at any time. The operator may
suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or Board rules.
